Patent Paralegal, Nancy Cabrera, Celebrates her 25th Anniversary
We are fortunate, indeed, to have such terrific teammates. All of the Firm’s Partners joined Nancy Cabrera, the lead Paralegal in the Firm’s Patent Department, for a very special lunch to mark a major milestone. As the inscription on her crystal award reads: “Presented to Nancy Cabrera with our great appreciation for 25 Years of dedicated service to clients and co-workers.” Nancy will continue to be the anchor for the Firm’s many Registered Patent Attorneys.

Kelly Malloy Elected President of University of Miami School of Law Student Bar Association
The Firm congratulates patent engineer and law clerk, Kelly Malloy, on her recent election as President of the Student Bar Association at the University of Miami School of Law. Ms. Malloy served as a Senator during her first year of law school, Executive Board Secretary during her second year, and will now serve as President of the student body for the 2021-2022 academic year. She is expected to take her Oath of Office on April 1, 2021.

Firm Associate, Mary Beth Hasty, to Join U.S. Patent and Trademark Office
The Firm congratulates Associate, Mary Beth Hasty, for her recent selection to join the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (“USPTO”) as an Attorney Advisor (Trademarks). Pursuant to federal government ethics rules, Ms. Hasty is withdrawing as Attorney of Record from all Firm matters, and once appointed, will be recused from any matter represented by the Firm.
The USPTO is lucky to have her. Ms. Hasty started her legal career at Malloy & Malloy, P.L., and demonstrated great knowledge and skill in the areas of Trademark Prosecution and Disputes/Litigation. She is expected to take the Oath of Office in October 2020.
This Year’s Recipient of the John Cyril Malloy Intellectual Property Law Endowed Memorial Scholarship
The Firm is pleased to announce the selection of this year’s recipient of the “John Cyril Malloy Intellectual Property Law Endowed Memorial Scholarship” for an outstanding student, Jacob Stemer, at the University of Miami School of Law.
