Patently Impossible Project to Support Dade Legal Aid
The Firm was proud to sponsor and take part in the 2025 Patently Impossible Project, which made its highly anticipated return on October 29 after several years on hiatus.
Hosted by Dade Legal Aid and the Miami-Dade Bar Intellectual Property Committee, this legendary and long-standing event brought together lawyers, engineers, and law students for an evening of creativity, teamwork, and laughs, all in support of Dade Legal Aid and its mission to provide quality free civil legal representation to low-income individuals, startups, and inventors. Firm Associate, Tyler J. Litwak, as Co-Chair of the Miami-Dade Bar Intellectual Property Committee, devoted countless hours toward making this a very successful event.
We are honored to support this incredible tradition and look forward to seeing it continue to grow in the years ahead.

Firm Partner W. John Eagan was recently named as one of the Top Lawyers for 2025 by Palm Beach Illustrated magazine in the category of Intellectual Property. The selection process is based on surveys sent to certified lawyers in South Florida. Inclusion in this list is based on one’s standing among peers and cannot be purchased. Mr. Eagan is based in the Firm’s Boca Raton office.
Forum on Franchising
Firm Attorneys John Malloy, Keith Kanouse, Kelly Malloy, and Katelyn Malloy attended the American Bar Association’s 48th Annual Forum on Franchising in Orlando, Florida. The legal conference covers evolving issues in franchise and intellectual property.
Firm Partner, Meredith Mendez, Attends Business Law Section Labor Day Retreat
Firm Partner Meredith Mendez, the immediate past chair of the Business Law Section of the Florida Bar’s Intellectual Property Committee, attended the Business Law Section Labor Day Retreat in Marco Island, Florida. The Intellectual Property Committee was honored to have Circuit Judge Richard Linn of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit present on “Effective Advocacy – What Works and What Doesn’t” during the Intellectual Property Committee meeting.
International Franchise Association, Legal Symposium
Firm Attorneys Keith Kanouse, Kelly Malloy, and Katelyn Malloy attended the International Franchise Association’s 2025 Legal Symposium in Washington, D.C. Among many other topics, the legal conference covered evolving issues in franchise disclosure, franchise disputes and litigation, as well as the interrelatedness of intellectual property and franchising.
2025 Miami Corporate Run
The Firm proudly participated in the Miami Corporate Run on April 24th. Partner Jonathan Woodard led the team as the fastest runner. Many of the Firm’s attorneys, paralegals, and administrators participated in this enjoyable community event
Firm Partner, John Cyril Malloy III, Speaks at UM Law IP Symposium
On March 7, 2025, Firm Partner, John Cyril Malloy III, was a featured speaker at the “IP Quest: Charting the Global Map of Innovation” Symposium, a presentation by the International and Comparative Law Review of the University of Miami School of Law. The Symposium was designed to explore the spectrum of Intellectual Property rights and their critical role in fostering innovation, economic growth, and cultural exchange. Mr. Malloy was among notable speakers, including professors from law schools across the country and preeminent attorneys in the field. Malloy & Malloy Associates Attend Coral Gables Bar Association Judicial Reception
On February 6, 2025, firm Associates Vanessa Michaud and Cleo Suero attended the Coral Gables Bar Association Judicial Reception, which was sponsored by Malloy & Malloy. The Judicial Reception is the Coral Gables Bar Association’s second largest event of the year, inviting judges, attorneys, and other professionals in and around the Coral Gables area to engage in networking opportunities and the exchange of ideas.
