Trademark Law Article Garners Prestigious Award From the International Trademark Association

The Firm is proud to announce that Emily Mola, a law clerk at Malloy & Malloy, P.L., has earned the 2020 International Trademark Association’s (INTA) Ladas Memorial Award for her article, Trademark Law’s Capability to Protect Traditional Cultural Expressions from Unauthorized Borrowing and Theft. With this award, her article will be considered for possible publication in The Trademark Reporter, INTA’s legal journal.

Firm Associate, W. John Eagan, Leads Trademark Bootcamp for Next Generation of Intellectual Property Attorneys

WJE Trademark Bootcamp

Firm Associate, W. John Eagan, was asked by the University of Miami School of Law’s Intellectual Property Law Society to “roll up his sleeves” and put interested law students through an intensive, ninety-minute “bootcamp” on trademark law. The seminar covered the basics of trademark law, including selection of strong trademarks, clearance searching, and an overview of the application process. John routinely handles such matters as part of his practice from both of the firm’s Miami and Boca Raton offices.

Managing Partner, John Cyril Malloy III, represented the Firm at the UM Law Donor's Luncheon to recognize scholarship recipients. Daniel Zhang, who has clerked for the Firm, was independently selected by UM Law to receive the “John Cyril Malloy Intellectual Property Law Endowed Memorial Scholarship.” The event was a wonderful gather of many promising law students, their dedicated UM Law professors, and supportive members of the legal community.
